From Crackpot cottage you don't have to go too far if you want to go for some fantastic walks. In fact you don't even need a car. You can set off to 2 very popular walks just by stepping out of our door.
Walking from Crackpot Cottage
Summer lodge
For a relaxing evening stroll you can walk up the lane to Summer Lodge Farm and enjoy beautiful views of the valley and surrounding farm land dotted with Swaledale sheep and cows. Not to mention the babbling beck running through.
Crackpot Falls
Walking down the hill from Crackpot Cottage, just 10 minutes away on your right hand side you will find a wooden gate with access to the falls, surrounded by woods and pasture .

Refreshments: Reeth
Difficulty: Medium - A great walk along the river Swale on the North side of the river and then across the Swing Bridge to the South of the river back to Crackpot.

Difficulty: Medium - A gentle stroll through the meadows then along the River Swale on the stone track to Keld, a steep climb over Kisdon Hill, then all downhill back to Muker.
Gunnerside Gill 7.5 miles circular
