The River Swale at the bottom of Crackpot

Reviews

Crackpot Cottage is a perfect Swaledale location, and Emanuela and Karen are the perfect hosts. The cottage dates from 1722 and has lots of charm and character, we felt very at home and relaxed. There is beautiful scenery and lots of walks close by. Also don't miss the pizza, it is very good.

Perfect little getaway spot🥰 Hosts are so lovely and the pizza is beautiful!! Thank you so much...

Lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy. Added bonus of a large outside space over looking the beck. A great base to explore the beautiful surrounding area. We would book this again and would recommend it to friends and family. (The Bridge Street Cottage - Brough)

We stayed for our first walking holiday (roll on the staycation) and we could not have picked a better place. The location was picturesque and quintessentially remote with great access to walking routes, and short drives to other key locations in the Dales (we went to Hawes and Leyburn). The breakfast (included), packed lunch, and evening meal options were great. The homemade bread and pizza were so tasty. The hosts recommended Somme great easy routes and were so friendly. They made our holiday so comfortable and special.

What a wonderful time at the Byre at Crackpot Cottage! The room is beautifully decorated, comfortable and warm. The fire and the candles make it cosy and romantic. We had such a good time. Emanuela & Karen are fantastic hosts. Friendly, funny and they go the extra mile for you. And let’s not talk about the food! The pizza was amazing and breakfast with their homemade bread, ketchup and the eggs from their free-range hens was delicious. Thank you Emanuela & Karen. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Emma and Karen’s lovely bed and breakfast. The room was clean and cosy and has a beautiful view. Emma and Karen were really friendly and welcoming and had lots of tips for great local walks - of which there are many! A perfect place for a peaceful, relaxing retreat. An added bonus was the great breakfasts and the option for homemade pizza in the evening which was really tasty and lovely to eat out in the garden.

Such a beautiful cottage. It was so clean and comfortable, and catered for all of our needs. We loved the terrace too. Would highly recommend. (The Bridge Street Cottage)

Really enjoyed our one night stopover here! The view from the fireplace was fantastic and ofcourse we ordered the pizzas. It's located in a great area with fun walks around. Emuela was very helpful and contactable.

If you want a clamping experience with a difference you have come to the right place. A lovely, cosy hut in the trees with lovely views over the Dales. The attention to detail is superb and after a day in the Dales, coming back to an invigorating cold shower with authentic Italian pizza, a large glass of red wine and a warming fire pit was the perfect end to the day.

You can expect a wonderful glamping experience with Emma and Karen at Crackpot Cottage. Their hospitality was much appreciated 😊
